    Dr Shirley Bradbrooke graduated from King’s College and St Georges Hospital London in 1972. Her training in Radiology was at St Georges and its many affiliated post-graduate hospitals. She obtained the FRCR in 1977.

    In 1979 Dr Bradbrooke was appointed Consultant Radiologist to St Bartholomews Hospital and Homerton Hospital with a particular interest in interventional biliary and vascular procedures and gastroenterology. She spent several months working in Philadelphia gaining specific expertise in liver intervention. In the 1980s mammography and breast ultrasound were added to her existing interests and she undertook further specialist breast imaging study in Malmo, Sweden and various London centres including the Royal Marsden and the BUPA Breast Unit, Grays Inn Road where she subsequently had sessions for many years. At the inception of the NHS Breast Screening Programme, she headed the East London programme at Barts.

    For over 30 years Dr Bradbrooke has also worked in many hospitals and clinics in the London private sector. Her principle practise has been at the Princess Grace where she now specialises solely in breast imaging and bone densitometry.
